HEAD & SHOULDERS ‘SMOOTH & SILKY’ SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER – REVIEW
I do not have serious dandruff concerns but winter does make my dry scalp flaky & itchy, which I absolutely disgust. It’s been few weeks since I first started using used Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky duo and now it’s time I get voice my opinion.
HEAD & SHOULDERS ‘SMOOTH & SILKY’ :
Head & Shoulders advanced Smooth & Silky shampoo and conditioner are formulated with moisturizers to restore a silky smooth look to dry and frizzy hair, while leaving hair 100% flake free*
Ingredients: Water,Sodium Laureth Sulfate,Sodium Lauryl Sulfate,Cocamide MEA,Zinc Carbonate,Glycol Distearate,Dimethicone,Fragrance,Cetyl Alcohol,Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride,Magnesium Sulfate,Sodium Benzoate,Magnesium Carbonate Hydroxide,Ammonium Laureth Sulfate,Benzyl Alcohol,Sodium Chloride.
My Review on Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky Shampoo & Conditioner:
Both, the shampoo & the conditioner come in a regular white bottle with blue cap & slight curves at the end. The only alteration is that the label of this one is now done on pink & blue color instead of the original white & blue. The cap fits securely and I didn’t notice any leakage. Also, the opening lets me control the amount of product to be dispensed.
Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky Shampoo:
I was pleasantly surprised by this shampoo. It has a very pleasant soapy smell with the addition of floral notes which lingers within the layers of my locks even after the wash. It is the kind of smell which is enough to make you feel clean. The consistency is medium thick, which isn’t too runny or too thick either. The texture of Head & Shoulder Smooth & Silky Shampoo feels like a thick body lotion and which goes on effortlessly on my hair.
I have dry hair & I never ever skip a conditioner for my hair but just for the sake of review, I came out without a conditioner. To my disbelief, my hair didn’t feel dry as usual. Unlike other anti-dandruff shampoo, this one didn’t leave my hair dry with lots of tangles, if you know what I mean. It really does moisturize my hair & scalp which I guess is due to its silicone content & pH balancing. It further added body to my hair, made it smooth & silky, ha! My hair didn’t feel like butter and I still had to follow with a conditioner to get the slip I love. As far being 100% flake free, it did get rid of my itching scalp.
Believe it or not, this is one of the utmost hydrating shampoos that I have used in a while. I have dry hair with a little dandruff & was looking for something that would clean my hair gently and get rid of the flakes. This shampoo did the job! If you’ve oily scalp / hair, use this with caution. It might leave your hair feel sticky and greasy in a day.
Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky Conditioner:
As opposed to the shampoo, the conditioner has more like vitamin-chemical clean scent. It is still nice but nothing like the shampoo. It goes in & spread easily in the hair. I left the conditioner for 2-3 minutes as usual & then I rinsed it off. I could feel the difference in my hair while washing off the conditioner. It felt sleek & had that smooth straight glide touch to it. It also had a fresh & clean smell as opposed to the vitamin smell I noticed during application. After drying, my hair felt moisturized & smooth with just the right amount of volume.
[box type=”shadow” ]Overall, I am impressed! This is my first time with Head & Shoulders & I really like its formula. Head & Shoulders Silky Smooth Shampoo did a fine job of getting rid of dry flakes & itching. When followed up with the sister conditioner, it gave my dry hair moisturized life again. Those with oily scalp might find the duo to leave their hair greasy.
