Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation SPF 15 – Review & Swatches
Today, I am going to review one of my favorite and most trust foundations of all time, Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation SPF 15. So let’s get started, shall we?
Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation SPF 15:
A modern foundation that combines a natural matte finish and medium, buildable coverage with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15 protection. Applies, builds and blends easily and evenly. Comfortable and long-wearing, helps minimize the appearance of pores and imperfections, giving skin a smoother, more flawless look and finish.
My Review on Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation SPF 15:
Before I begin with the review, let me give you a gist about my skin. I have a combination skin with Oily T-zone and Dry Cheeks. During Summers, my t-zone get extremely oily and cheeks behave well. Wherein during Winters, my cheeks get extremely dry and t-zone behaves quite well. I have tested Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation SPF 15 foundation during Summers and loved it!
Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation SPF 15 comes in a glass jar bottle with a black screw cap. The cap fits securely to avoid any leakage or spilling. Unfortunately, the bottle comes without a dispenser which is a big downside. Once the product gets lower, I have to swing the bottle to get the foundation out. It gets a bit messy and then I can’t even control the amount of product to be dispensed.
It took me a great deal to figure out my perfect shade. Since I was working with MAC, I would try each shade close to my skin tone everyday to find out the correct shade for my skin tone. NW’s would be too PINK for me and NC would look too YELLOW. I am somewhere between. Finally, I settled with C4. MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in C4 turned out to be the perfect match for my skin tone. It doesn’t have the usual strong yellow undertones and looks almost undetectable. I am not sure if it’s still available at the counters but if you have a similar situation, you can definitely try C or N options. MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation has a thick fluid texture and spreads on evenly. It is EXTREMELY pigmented and just a single pump is enough to cover the entire face. I use it with a Flat Top Kabuki Brush for medium coverage but when used with a Flat Foundation Brush, it provides insane coverage. I like to apply it in thin layers and build it up than applying all at once and trust me it looks best this way. It blends flawlessly but sets within no time. Hence, you have to work fast with it and apply it in sections for that second skin look.
I absolutely dig the true matte finish that I get with this foundation. Not even a single hint of shine! Again, if applied well, it doesn’t look cake-y and appears almost natural on my skin. It does make my cheeks feel a bit stretched but a moisturizer underneath helps me resolve that issue.
Another great thing about MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation would be its lasting power. It stays put on me for about 9 – 10 hours without a hint of shine. I am amazed by its oil control formula. Not to forget about the inclusion of SPF 15 for Sun protection.
[box type=”shadow” ]Overall, I am super impressed with MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation! If you have Oily to Combination skin, I bet you’ll love it too. I do not recommend this for dry or normal skin type as it is drying and would accentuate dry areas.
