My Hair Color Experience with Wella Illumina
If you’ve been an avid reader of my blog or if you follow me oon Instagram, you will be aware of my obsession with hair coloring. I love coloring my hair and I believe it is one of the best way to instantly change my entire look and also cover my premature grey hair. Last week, I revisited one of my favorite Placid salon in Bandra to add another hue to my dull & lifeless hair. Read on to know my hair color experience with Wella Professional’s new range of hair color called as Illumina.

My Experience with Wella Professional’s Illumina Hair Color:
I had done Balayage on my hair few months back and while I was really happy with it then, the color started fading out and made my hair look dry & damaged. The lighter, blonder parts looked even worse. Hence, I decided to take an expert opinion from Placid, Wella’s Hair Expert.
Since I was still so much in love my Balayage minus the lighter & damaged ends, he suggested to add more warmer hues to my hair whilst keeping the color radiant. He also recommended to add some highlights globally to add more balance and light throughout my hair.
Illumina has three different mood board categorized as Cool, Neutral & Warm and we decided to be a part of the warm family. 🙂 Placid started by pre-lighting my colored hair for the newer shades to adhere better. He then started applying the pre-lighter all across my hair in different section and different length and wrapped each section carefully in a silver foil. And this is how I looked chilling with my head full for foils.
I was kept waiting for almost 40 minutes and then finally was taken for a hair wash. Honestly, I was a little taken aback after the prelightner since my hair had golden blonde streaks which looked quite weird. However, Placid assured me that the end results would be fab and trusting the expert, I waited for the next step.
He used the Wella Illumina level 7 color which is more of a warm honey brown with golden lights and applied it on my roots only to cover the premature grey hairs. After around 15 minutes, he applied the same mixture all across my hair and kept it on for another 20 minutes. I was then taken for the final wash which was completed by Sebastian Color Ignite Shampoo & Conditioner. It took almost 5 hours for the entire process and I was almost exhausted by the end of it but the final result totally justified the time.
Overall, I loved the end result and couldn’t stop staring and touching my hair. My hair was super glossy and was coated with the beautiful caramel honey color with ashy ends for the gradient. Wella Illumina Hair Color has actually made my hair look more shinier & healthier and I have literally been getting a lot of compliments of my hair since then.
