I love matte lipsticks and was eagerly waiting for the launch of Retro Matte Collection. If you love Retro Matte formula, then you’d love these lipsticks. I find the new collection to be a bit more soft and creamier in texture. They also glide on easily on the lips but I would recommend using a lip brush to an even application. MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICKS are highly pigmented and a single stroke is enough to achieve an opaque coverage. The wear time of these lipsticks are excellent (6 – 8 hours ) and leaves a stain behind as if fades off. The only concern with Retro Matte lipsticks are the super drying formula. However, I condition my lips an hours before and dab off the excess on a tissue before application. Also, exfoliation really helps !
MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK ‘ALL FIRED UP’ :
All Fired Up is described as a “bright fuchsia matte.” It is a bright fuchsia – red color with warm undertones.
MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK ‘DANGEROUS’ :
Dangerous is described as a “orangey red matte.” It’s a medium-dark, orange with strong red undertones. The color is in between MAC So Chaud & Lady Danger.
MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK FLAT OUT FABULOUS :
Flat Out Fabulous is described as a “bright plum matte.” It’s a cool-toned, fuchsia-plum with a flat, matte finish. MAC Pink Pigeon looks very similar but its a bit more bright. My 2nd favorite from the collection 🙂
MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK RELENTLESSLY RED :
Relentlessly Red is described as a “bright pinkish coral matte.” It’s a bright red that will flatter most skin tones. MAC Love Goddess is similar but not matte. It is my FAVORITE color from the collection !
MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK RUNWAY HIT :
Runway Hit is described as a “light n*de matte.” It’s a light peachy coral with warm undertones. Lovely n*de color for intense smokey eyes.
MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK STEADY GOING :
Steady Going is described as a “light pink matte.” It is a cotton candy pink color with strong cool undertone. I didn’t like this color a bit. It completely washed me off. Wouldn’t recommend this color to Indian skin tones.

I’ve super dry lips, do you think I can manage retro matte lipsticks with a lip balm underneath or should I skip it? :-/
Hey Ghayu, Yes it would work. Make sure you keep your lips hydrated and apply a lip balm few hours before. Before the application, dab off the excess on a tissue paper and apply the lipstick. It would work like a charm 🙂
Is this collection available in all stores across India?
