My Review On Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm ‘Pink Shock & Oh! Orange!’:
When Maybelline first introduced Baby Lips Lip Balm, I was disappointed by their packaging. I wanted the one which is available in US and then came the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm.
I absolutely adore this packaging over the regular baby lips lip balm. These have a clear lid with the lip balm inside a black tube. The clear lid has neon labeling of the lip balm and the color represents the color f the balm. Cute, isn’t it? Thankfully, the lid fits securely and hence I haven’t noticed it opening & messing up in my handbag.
Apart from the packaging, there has been a significant change in the pigmentation as well. Well, a good change again! Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balms gives a sheer color on the first swipe but the color is pretty much build able to achieve semi opaque finish. It can easily pass off as a lip gloss in my opinion.
Since it is very emollient, it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the lips. The texture is very light weight & spreads across easily. They keep my lips soft & hydrated while they’re on but doesn’t help repair them. Even thought I love the packaging & pigmentation, I am a little disappointed by its moisturizing properties. Even if I apply multiple coats, it keeps my lips hydrated for not more than 3 hours. However, the hint of color does last for a while.
Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm is available in 6 variants and I got these in two of my favorite colors, Pink Shock & Oh! Orange.
Pink Shock:
Pink has gorgeous hot pink hues but due to its glossiness, it doesn’t wash me out. Infact, it looks quite flattering. It is very pigmented for a lip balm and the color is buildable. Pink Shock smells like a raspberry candy and tastes very similar too. 😉
Oh!Orange:
Oh! Orange is a little less pigmented that Pink Shock and leaves a soft orange tint on the lips. This again smells like an orange candy.
[box type=”shadow” ]Overall, I love these! The packaging is adorable & so are the colors in this range. They aren’t the best moisturizing or repairing lip balms out there but the color tint & delicious smell would do for me. Additionally, they are super inexpensive and a few other variants wouldn’t hurt my pocket either.
