Sunsilk Natural Recharge ‘Shampoo & Conditioner’: Review

“Finally, a PARABENS-FREE drugstore Shampoo & Conditioner!” This was my first retort about the Sunsilk Natural Recharge range. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and it’s time to share my experience with you all.

My Review on Sunsilk Natural Recharge ‘Shampoo & Conditioner’:

Both, the shampoo & conditioner comes in a comforting pale-mint green color bottle with green inscribe. The shampoo bottle is semi opaque and shows the amount of product left. The conditioner bottle on the other hand is completely dense and is difficult to judge the product inside. The flip cap fits properly on both the bottles and hence avoids leakage which also makes it travel friendly.

Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo:

The shampoo is pearl white in color with very fine shimmer particles. Since it contains a fancy ingredient known as Ginseng Root & Oil, I presumed it to have a similar smell. Not that I’ve sniffed Ginseng before but you know the kind of smell in Luxury Ayurvedic Shampoos? I was beholding for something similar. However, this one has a very mild smell which disappears even before you could get out of the shower. I know many people prefer it that way but I like the fragrance to linger in my tresses for a while.

The consistency of the shampoo is not runny, nor very thick.  However, it doesn’t lather very well and I tend to take more & more product until it lathers. This eventually leads to a lot of product wastage.

The shampoo claims to nourish roots & thicken hair up to 5 times. Well, I would say Sunsilk went a bit overboard with their claims. I didn’t notice any thickens in my hair neither did it help on my hair fall. Apart from that, it really cleans my hair, makes them soft & manageable.

For the sake of review, I also tested the shampoo with the conditioner and it did nourish my dry & frizzy mane and made them more manageable.

Sunsilk Natural Recharge Conditioner:

The conditioner is again pearl white in color but without any shimmer particles. Astonishingly, the conditioner has a very noticeable fragrance which lingers in my hair even after the wash (just the way I like it). The texture is similar to any other conditioner and is also easy to smear & wash.

With the same active ingredients (Ginseng root & oil), the conditioner claims to make hair appear thicker, fuller & more abundant. Once again, I didn’t find any major alteration in my hair on the 5x stronger or thicker hair claim. But it does add a bit of volume making them silky & smooth without making my hair greasy or heavy.

[box type=”shadow” ]Overall, I think Sunsilk Natural Recharge ‘Shampoo & Conditioner’ is a decent duo for clean, soft & manageable hair. It works nicely on my dry /frizzy hair and adds a bit of volume. It contains the goodness or Ginseng root & oil and is parabens-free and contains natural pH. It also comes with an affordable price tag. However, it doesn’t stance on its claim of fuller & 5x thicker hair.[/box]
